Bud Weightman | President
Bud Weightman is the founder and president of Qualified Specialists, LLC, a technology-based company that develops and provides management system software as a service; consults, trains, and performs internal, supply chain, and project audits; and develops training solutions.
With a career spanning more than 45 years, he has become an industry leader, trusted advisor, recognized and respected practitioner, solutions provider, trainer, consultant, management system auditor, author, speaker, and mentor
Over the course of his career, Bud has:
- Provided quality management solutions in more than 30 countries
- Achieved status as Exemplar Global’s longest-term certified lead auditor (30 years)
- Worked with the American Petroleum Institute (API) since 1986 as an auditor and on a variety of projects
- Participated in API Standardization Development Committees since 1990
- Been an accreditation auditor for API’s Center for Offshore Safety
- Achieved API Certified Training Provider status for QSI
- Acted as an advisory board member for several registrars (Certified Bodies) under ISO 17021.
Bud offers a unique perspective related to the design, development, implementation, integration, systemization, assessment, certification, and maintenance of quality, health and safety, environmental, and a plethora of other business management systems types (e.g., API Spec Q1 and Spec Q2; AS9100; ISO 9001, 14001, 19011, 17021, 17025, 31001 and 45001, including API Product Specifications).
He specializes in customized business solutions incorporating systems thinking, project integrity, product technical integrity, compliance to industry standards, and regulatory requirements. He has also been instrumental in the mitigation of nonproductive rig time (e.g., benchmarking, audits) and has served as an expert witness in quality.
As president of QSI, he leads a team that advocates and promotes individual certification and a higher understanding of management systems and continual business improvement.
